Why Recology's Rates are Increasing
This rate increase is necessary because of increases in operational costs such as salaries, wages, transportation and fuel. Additionally, changes in state law (SB 1383) have impacted costs to waste haulers. Recology’s five-year (2018 to 2023) average operationally based modification is 4%, including this modification:
Year | Modification Pct. Change |
---|---|
2019 | 2.75% |
2020 | 2.75% |
2021 | 3.26% |
2022 | 5.51% |
2023 | 5.8% |
