The Pacifica Police Department works with a variety of other agencies and independent organizations to manage traffic control and vehicle code violations. Though many issues are handled through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or other parties, the Pacifica Police Department does address certain vehicle-related items, such as abandoned vehicles, towed vehicles, fix-it tickets, parking/traffic citations, suspended/revoked licenses, unfit drivers and radar warning trailers.

Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) Policy
Although the Pacifica Police Department does not own ALPR equipment, it may be necessary to access information obtained via ALPR technology when conducting criminal investigations. As such, the department will follow the ALPR policy developed by the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC). A link to the policy can be found below.
