A new comprehensive Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for the City of Pacifica was adopted in February 2020. This plan updated the existing bicycle plan and identify needs and opportunities to improve walking and bicycling on city streets as well as on trail and beach access.

The plan's implementation will be through a mix of special focused bicycle and pedestrian projects and also during resurfacing efforts.

You may start to see bicycle boulevard signs and pavement markings added to your street that look similar to the photo below. Bicycle Boulevards are a bicycle facility classification. Do not worry, the City has not changed the name of the road to be Boulevard, these pavement markings are placed to remind drivers this is a designated bicycle boulevard and they should be particularly vigilant bicyclists using these routes while driving.
